Short Story or War Story

Recant a pivotal moment in your life or your time overseas, or tell a fictional story starring you or your loved one(s).

Short story packages are perfect for individuals or veterans hoping to relive a special memory or series of memories. These packages are also ideal for gift-givers who want a fun story showcasing their loved one(s) as characters.

Short Story or War Story

Short story packages are a great way to immortalize an instrumental moment in your life or the life of a loved one. They are also a way to have fun - I'm happy to work with clients to create fiction stories starring loved ones as characters, making a great kid's bedtime story or one-of-a-kind gifting option. Short story packages start at 5 pages, and projects up to 30 pages in length may fall into this category.

All projects at Emma Grace Writes are individualized, so all packages are subject to varied pricing and timelines of production. My number one goal is to ensure that your story is told your way!

General Project Timeline - What's Included

Weeks One to Two

Weeks Three to Seven*

Weeks Eight to Eleven*

The first step in any project is to visit with me for your free consultation appointment. During this appointment, we will discuss the parameters of your project, such as the point(s) of view you'd like to tell the story from, what needs to be included, and how extensive you'd like the project to be. Within 48 hours following this appointment, I will provide you with an invoice for the services and a freelancer/client contract. If you have any questions, we can email or schedule a follow up phone call to discuss your invoice and contract. Invoice prices are subject to change depending on changes to your project parameters. Once you have signed the project contract and paid the first one-half (1/2) of your invoice total, I will provide you with a list of questions. You will need to return responses to these questions either via email, mail, or voice recording. You may also provide any image(s) which you would like included in your project. Additional images can be added later on in the production process, so don't worry if you don't have everything together right off the bat.

The next step in the process is the writing period - for you, this is a waiting period whilst I produce the written work! During this period, I may reach out to you for follow-up questions or to request images or additional information for your project.

The last step in an unpublished project is the editing period. I will send you the draft-stamped completed work for you to read, review, and make edits/include additional photos. We will then have a phone, Zoom, or in-person appointment to discuss any questions or changes that you may have. I will accept the second half of the contract payment at the end of this meeting, and then I will get to work editing your project! I offer two editing rounds with each project total. The basic final delivery of the project will be in PDF format, but check out my add-on options for professional printing, cover photos, and/or self-publishing assistance through Amazon.

*Times for project completion are subject to change depending on the extent of your project. These are general estimates for a mid-sized project.
